TRANSFORMATION - 2nd Annual Fast -

"I Will Fast for my Breakthrough!"

Hello Everyone,
Thank you for your interest in joining me on this Fasting journey! A few years ago I tapped into the world of fasting. In doing so, I was able to withdraw my thinking on the idea that Fasting will change God's mind to accepting the only real reason to fasting is to receive a clearer picture and tap into God's truth for my particular situation. My life has changed drastically. Men and women fasted throughout the bible simply to deny the flesh and to seek God's truth. I want to command you on choosing this direction for this New Year, since we all need to get a little closer to God.
Why the Daniel (21 Day) Fast?

I chose the 21 day Daniel fast because for one there is no doubt that we all need to be a little closer to God but there are also some hindered answers to our prayers that need special attention! Some of you have prayed a while ago and received no answer, so did Daniel. However, God actually answered Daniel’s prayer on the same day but a spiritual being of darkness detained the messenger for 21 days but Daniel was wise, he faithfully continued to pray and fast. God’s messenger eventually arrived with his answer. I want to challenge you: If you can believe God’s words written in Isaiah 40:31 Those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. You will definitely see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Why do it as a group?
I don't know about you but there are some things I rather do alone and others I feel with the support of a partner I gain a better opportunity at success. I believe in accountability! Throughout these next few weeks, we will be there for each other. Even Daniel had 3 companions, Esther had the Jewish people and her maids, Jesus went to pray he took a few of His disciples with him. "Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. Eccl 4:12!" I want to encourage you to read the Book of Daniel. Particularly Daniel 1, 2, 9 & 10!

January 8

As the starting date for the fast is approaching, I want you to know that I have been praying for you. I hope that you already have an idea of what you will be praying and fasting about. I believe that God is already whispering in your spirit in which area you need him the most. Please remember that prayer and fasting  are not tricks by which we allure God into giving us what we want. Nor is it a diet. Prayer is a sober-minded acknowledgement of our true condition before the Lord and an admission of our need for His divine help.

I will also encourage you to get a journal if you don't already have one. It will help keep a record of your daily experience and be able to jot down what God is saying to you in this season. It will also serve as a great reference.

  1. Evangelist Matthew Erickson. Amen praise be to the God of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! I am doing the fast as well. I'm finding that when I do these fasts and submit the desires of my flesh, that Gods spirit truly manifest so powerfully! My prayers become more powerful, my worship is anointed and on fire with the Holy spirit, and the word of God comes ALIVE through the Holy spirits interpretation! As soon as the fast started God woke me up in the night to pray. This morning before class Gaby and I worshiped singing " I surrender all" and meditated on psalm 34 where David talks of blessing the Lord at all times and his praises continually being in our mouths. I just love to do these fasts because Jesus sacrificed his life for us. There is nothing good in us but if we can show him how much we love him by sacrificing our fleshly desires, well then we want to do it with our whole hearts! The prayer walk we did last night really opened up my mind to Gods plans for my life and really showed me that Gods our daddy and loves us. He's not some mean judge waiting for us to mess up so he can smash the hammer on us, but he cares for us and wants to hear our problems so he can comfort us with his loving embrace.I'm looking very forward to these coming days of prayer and fasting as God reveals his plans for our lives. We are truly submitted to his will!

  2. Mat, it's good to know that you joined in. There is no better place to be than in the presence of God. There is that genuine comfort that exist there. I really had a great time during the prayer walk. Having the opportunity to do it with the HCC women ministry accompanied by the youths was inspiring. Greater things is yet to come!

  3. Mark 11;25, Mat. 6:14-15. As started the fast by asking God to forgive me, and He brought someone to my mind that I needed to forgive. My aunt and I did not speak for the past 10 years, although I did not have anything against her. She did not call, and I did not call her either. Circumstances in my life came up, where all my other family members would call, but not her. So I took that as an excuse not to contact her as well. As I started this fast, God put it in my heart to call her, and I am so glad that I did. I had to humble myself and call her. She kept telling the whole family that I had something with her, which for sure I did not have. So when God put it in my heart to call her, I did. Although I did not have anything against her, just because she felt that I did, I had to put it at rest so that I could be at peace, and open to receive my blessing. How can I ask God to forgive me when I was still harboring resentment against someone else. Although I kept saying that I did not have anything against her, God showed me that I did have something, just because I stay in my corner and do not speak with her, that did not make it right. I thank God for His Mercy and for speaking to my heart to let me see where I was hindering my prayers. So my motto for this fast, is Speak Lord, Speak. Your servant is listening.

  4. God is good..you guys!! I am so excited to be doing this fast. Guys when I tell you that I am so desperate for God to speak to certain situations in my life, I am. I wake up at 6:30 am every morning to mediatate and seek the Lord, and when I pray I find that certain bible qoutes spring up and I recite them and being reminded of God's promises for our lives. Im looking forward to each day in seeking God's words..@Nadia I love that motto, speak lord speak we are listening..

  5. I am convinced that God connected us for a reason. I get a kick out of reading Nadia's post because the video that I still haven't published deals directly with Roadblocks that may hinder us as we pursue God's direction/plan for us. I am so happy that you resolved this issue. I just want you guys to know ideally you will face some obstacles along the way but that doesn't change God's mind or plans for you. Keep your eyes on Him because His eyes are on you! Psalm 32:8...Look out for the next video soon!

  6. DEPENDANCE ON GOD - LIFE HURTS (Ruth 1)
Naomie- she focus on the things that was going wrong in her life
    -lost her husband & sons
    -feel lost and alone
Elimelech & his family left Bethlehem (place of bread) in Judah (praise) to go to Moab (from father).
Elimelech & his family stayed longer than they were expected. They begin to doubts the love of God & strive in his own strength.
-many times we turn away from God & expect to get back with Him at any time; however, the more we get in the world, the more it's pulling us in.
-even though we made find fortune & fame in the world, nothing compare to the peace & hope that comes from knowing that all is right with God
-We sometimes focus on things on things that goes wrong in our lives, sometimes we loose sight of God & the good things He continue to do for us
-God has done so much for me in my life from my young age until now.
    - He provides me with great family & friends
    - He shown me that regardless of what I went through in my life He has the last words.
-He determines my life plan, not me or others

    God Bless!!!
